Centennial Regional High School
First LEGO League Robotics
|
This Saturday is Centennial’s very
first Lego robotics tournament at the Stade Uniprix in Montreal. We have
created a Lego robot and we have programmed our robot, Steve the Charger, to
do missions that will earn us points at the tournament. This is Centennial’s
very first Lego league; our team includes sec 1 and sec 2 students. All our
missions are totally made out of Lego. We had to research a natural disaster
and we choose tsunamis. We had to come up with a solution to prevent damage
during tsunamis. Our solution was to make timeshare condos that are completely
suspended in the air to allow the raging waters to simple pass underneath.
They are equipped with a retractable ladder to help you get to and from your
timeshare condos. They are also equipped with a dumbwaiter to transport items
to and from the surface. The poles holding up the timeshare are reinforced and
will move with an earth quake, preventing damage. We had to research what
solutions are already in place and what tsunami is. We then made an infomercial
about our timeshare condos.
